Programming was something most 80s kids had – if they owned a home computer at least. It was the default landing space when you turned on your machine, and so learning it was almost mandatory, and obviously pretty exciting. With the layers of GUI and hidden code we have now, it’s harder for the average user to even know about coding, let alone get stuck into it. So I thought it was about time to bring back some BASIC programming, with a short course in C64 BASIC programming. This video course will last a few episodes, with the end goal of putting together an actual working game (which may even be quite good – you never know). So join me in episode one, where we’ll learn about randomise functions, and let’s get this BASIC malarkey under our hats.
